Titbits Are Go!
It’s just a video I stumbled across on YouTube. The ballerina strikes a pose. Then, as the music begins, she rises en pointe and proceeds to dip, kick, balance, leap, slide, prance and flow from one position to another. All of these things have names, but you needn’t know them to feel this student of dance defying gravity, apparently without effort. As the boys and girls at the barre fall silent, watching in admiration (and envy?) and occasionally applauding, she twirls and spins, eventually coming to a halt. Having flawlessly performed one the most demanding of variations, the dancer is exhausted and awkwardly slumps off. This is what human beings do, bending mortal frames to immortal art.
With thanks to Taylor, Eva Nys and Master Ballet Academy. Watch the video here.
